The annual Swedish Design Award was this year held at Moderna Museet on the 19th of October. During dinner and an award show, more than 50 prizes were awarded to the most prestigious projects in categories such as e-commerce design, visual identity, logotype design and much more. Grebban was awarded with no less than 7 different awards with 4 of our clients. The Swedish Design Award is Sweden's competition in design that is open to everyone who works in graphic design, design, and similar creative fields. The award was established during the Design Year 2005 and has since been a unique collaboration to select and develop Swedish design every year. The competition consists of a "Peoples choice award" based on voting from the general public and awards handed out by the jury. We are extremely happy for both us and our clients for this recognition, proving that our goal of always aiming for the best in class pays off.

Our design offering, with deep knowledge in the e-commerce trade and our expertise in digital-first branding, proves us again. With a dedicated team of over 100, we have amassed a wealth of knowledge and experience that sets us apart. We understand the intricacies of online retail and recognise the pivotal role that branding plays in the digital realm.

J.Lindeberg / E-commerce / Gold / Peoples Choice

The Swedish fashion brand J.Lindeberg was founded in 1996 when they disrupted the world of golfing fashion. In 2022, almost 30 years later, they set out to deliver a new digital experience together with Grebban. Aiming to revitalise the brand for young trendsetters and digital natives. A new digital identity was born out of the idea to bridge the visual worlds of sport and fashion. With a bold new direction, we created new ways to shop and explore your individual style whether you’re feeling mild or wild. Our visual concept is rooted in the intersection of sports and fashion. With the fast paced and technical visual world from sports we have combined this with the more bold and typographic driven influences from the world of fashion. The combination of these visual worlds resulted in a evolving and dynamic brand experience with a wide range of expressions.

Norstedts / Webpage / Gold / Peoples Choice

Since 1823 Norstedts has established itself as Sweden’s oldest and most prestigious publishing house. Grebban created a visual identity that merges the best of Norstedt's legacy with contemporary and modern influences. With the emergence of new digital players and alternative media, traditional publishers like Norstedts are finding it difficult to attract readers and retain their market share. The objective was to maintain Norstedts's strong position in the publishing industry by becoming relevant and appealing to modern readers and writers, while also preserving the legacy of a 200 year old publishing house. The visual identity is inspired by the iconic building of the publishing house, mixing it with modern design influences. Traditional techniques, ornate typography, hand drawn graphics and moody colors meets modern influences such as dynamic type settings, clean lines, asymmetrical shapes and bright colors. Resulting in a unique identity that appeals to both the past and present, physical and digital. Grebban developed the concept "A legacy for the future" as a tribute to the past, as well as a reminder of Norstedt's role in shaping the literature of the future. Since the launch of Norstedts’s new visual identity and website the number of visits on site has increased by 18% and organic search has increased by 64%. These positive trends are expected to continue in the future, leading to more growth and a stronger digital presence.

"Our agency Grebban helped us come up with a promise, something that we could weigh all the balances against. For us - as a 200-year-old publishing house - we want to avoid looking back, but Grebban helped us to still value it in the vision "we are building a legacy for the future". – Olle Lidbom, CMO Norstedts

Röda Sten / Logotype / Silver / Peoples Choice

Röda Sten Konsthall is a contemporary art gallery in a former heat plant on the banks of Göta river in Gothenburg. Capturing the essence of Röda Sten Konsthall – being unpolished, contemporary and bold – Grebban has created a new brand strategy, visual identity, design implementations and website design. The new logotype is inspired by the unpolished and bold building silhouette, allowing it to accurately convey the experience of visiting the art gallery. The dynamic nature of the symbol makes it adaptable to a wide variety of applications, enabling Röda Sten Konsthall to create a cohesive expression across various touchpoints and reinforce their identity and message. The logotype has become a strong and bold presence on the crowded local messaging boards being more than just a symbol; it has instilled a sense of internal pride and serves as an anchor for the gallery's roots and foundation as a contemporary art space.

“The most vital aspect of the collaboration with Grebban is that I can see that they understand the soul of Röda Sten Konsthall and transform it into the design” – Mia Christersdotter Norman, Director of Röda Sten Konsthall

Raben & Sjögren / Identity / Silver

From 1946 to 1970, Raben & Sjögren, under the editorial and publishing leadership of Astrid Lindgren, revolutionised the landscape of children’s literature. They introduced a new approach to writing for children, featuring authors who told unconventional, groundbreaking and imaginative stories that had never been explored before. It was making Rabén & Sjögren, still to this day, Sweden's leading publisher of children’s books. To showcase the exciting journey into a universe of original stories, inventive authors, and imaginative illustrators, we brought life to the concept “For Curious Minds”. Vibrant and brimming with curiosity, it’s a visual expression that mirrors the boundless reading adventures of curious minds.
