How we migrated J.Lindeberg from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus in four months

Grebban’s CEO & founder Anton Johansson was interviewed together with Andreas Koschnike, Head of E-commerce at J.Lindeberg for the Re:platform Podcast. In the podcast, we outlined our learnings from migrating J.Lindeberg from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus, in just four months!

The Re:Platform Podcast is run by Paul Rogers from Vervaunt and James Gurd from Digital Juggler. It’s a resourceful podcast focused on re-platforming e-commerce architectures and platforms from all aspects. Grebban has come across Paul Rogers and Vervaunt in several of our projects with great results, we can highly recommend them. Hopefully, we can work with James Gurd soon, too!

In the interview, Grebban CEO Anton and Andreas from J.Lindeberg explained the why, how and what regarding migrating from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify Plus. Why we built the site in Shopify Native (liquid) instead of headless, why J.Lindeberg wanted to migrate to Shopify in the first place and what the pros and cons have been so far. We also talked about Shopify Markets and the “Mild to Wild” concept of the site.

Andreas Koschnike has an interesting background and has been working with e-commerce for more than 20 years as the founder of Caliroots, a multibrand e-tailer for streetwear and shoes. Now he is heading up the e-commerce department at J.Lindeberg, one of Sweden’s most successful fashion- & sports brands. J.Lindeberg assortments range from golf, ski and tennis to pure fashion, and the combination gives the brand a truly fascinating blend. Ambassadors include golfer Viktor Hovland, tennisplayer Markéta Vondroušová and golfer Kelly Tan.

As agency Grebban did the platform migration and web development, but also designed the new digital identity and e-commerce design (UX, UI etc) for the new Jlindeberg.com. The design has been truly “e-commerce first,” and post-launch, it has started to be integrated into their physical flagship stores, marketing material and other online channels. The project was equally focused on design and customer experience as with tech, which has been very successful.

The system architecture includes Shopify Plus, Zendesk, Voyado, Narvar, Ingrid, Klevu, Inriver, Triggerbee, Business Central and more.

As mentioned, the whole project took only four months from start to finish (including design), an accomplishment all parties involved are very proud of.

Recently, J.Lindeberg also launched their new community, “Clubhouse”, a unique CRM experience designed to be interactive, tie the customers close to the brand, and be a communication channel that can be fully branded all the way through. A core benefit is pre-access to releases and sales, which has been popular.

Thanks for having us on your podcast, Paul and James! And thanks to J.Lindeberg for being such a brilliant client, taking bold moves with us on your DTC journey.
